At Oldupai Gorge we saw a plaster cast of the oldest footprints ever found of human ancestors walking upright, found in Laetoli, about 25km away from where we were. They are 3.6 million years old. Because the area is basically a desert, things get preserved pretty well. Here's some pictures from the museum in Oldupai, and one skull from there that we saw in Kenya.
